Harvey Cedars is a borough located in Ocean County, New Jersey, situated along the Atlantic Ocean on Long Beach Island. As of 2025, the borough has an estimated year-round population of 400 residents, reflecting modest growth since the 2020 Census.

Harvey Cedars was officially incorporated on December 15, 1894, following a referendum held on November 20, 1894. The borough was formed from portions of Union Township, now known as Barnegat Township.

The majority of housing units in Harvey Cedars are seasonal homes, primarily occupied during the summer months by owners who reside elsewhere. This influx brings the summer population to approximately 12,000, dramatically increasing local activity and demand.

Due to its quiet character, limited land availability, and direct bay and ocean access, Harvey Cedars remains one of the most desirable—and expensive—real estate markets on Long Beach Island. Bayfront and oceanfront properties regularly exceed $2 million, with overall home values averaging over $1 million as of 2023.
